Capsuld is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we use it. We never sell your personal data to third parties.
1. Who we are
Capsuld ("we", "us", "our") is a men's personal styling service operated at capsuld.com. For data protection enquiries, contact us at hello@capsuld.com.
2. What data we collect
We collect the following information when you use Capsuld:
- Account information — your name and email address when you create an account
- Style profile — your style preferences, budget, occasions, and sizes as provided during onboarding
- Wardrobe data — items you add to your wardrobe, including category, colour, and any photos you upload
- Usage data — which products you click on, which recommendations you view, and how you interact with the app
- Device data — browser type, device type, and general location (country/region) for analytics purposes
3. How we use your data
We use your data to:
- Provide personalised wardrobe gap analysis and product recommendations
- Send weekly style update emails and purchase reminder nudges (you can unsubscribe at any time)
- Improve our recommendation algorithms and product catalogue
- Analyse usage patterns to improve the app experience
- Comply with legal obligations
4. Affiliate links and how we generate revenue
Affiliate disclosure: Capsuld earns commission from purchases made through links on our platform. When you click a product link and make a purchase, we may receive a small percentage of the sale at no additional cost to you. This is how we keep Capsuld free to use.
We work with the following affiliate partners:
- Direct retailer partnerships — ASOS, Wax London, Percival, Cole Buxton, Represent, Gymshark, Sunspel, Batch London and others
- Affiliate networks — we may join networks such as AWIN or similar in future
Our product recommendations are based on your wardrobe profile, style preferences, and trend data — not on commission rates. We do not promote products because they pay higher commission.
5. Cookies and tracking
We use the following types of cookies:
- Essential cookies — required for the app to function, including authentication and session management (Firebase)
- Analytics cookies — Google Analytics 4 to understand how users interact with the app. This data is anonymised and aggregated.
- Affiliate tracking — when you click a product link, the retailer may set cookies to track your visit for commission attribution purposes. These are governed by the retailer's own privacy policy.
You can manage cookie preferences using our cookie consent banner. Refusing non-essential cookies will not affect your ability to use the core features of Capsuld.
6. Data storage and security
Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase (Firestore) with servers located in the European Union (europe-west1). We use industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit and at rest.
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by emailing hello@capsuld.com.
7. Third-party services
Capsuld uses the following third-party services which may process your data:
- Google Firebase — authentication and database storage
- Google Analytics 4 — usage analytics
- Resend — transactional email delivery
- Anthropic Claude API — AI-powered style insights (no personal data is stored by Anthropic)
8. Your rights (GDPR)
Under UK and EU data protection law, you have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Rectification — correct inaccurate data
- Erasure — request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
- Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format
- Object — object to processing of your data for direct marketing
- Withdraw consent — withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent

9. Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or via an in-app notice. Continued use of Capsuld after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
